Joshua R. Decker, DPM Dr. Decker is a native of Grand Rapids, Michigan. His appreciation for medicine came while working as a camp counselor in Colorado when a kidney stone episode resulted in extreme pain. This personal experience gave Dr. Decker a new understanding of a health care provider’s ability to provide pain control and receive personal satisfaction from helping someone in need. It was this experience that drew Dr. Decker to pursue a career as a Physician. The field of podiatry became his passion as he observed his father, Dr. William Decker, in his podiatric practice. He continued to pursue his desire to help others by working at a free health care clinic in Honduras in the summer months of his podiatric training. During his residency he trained in the orthopedic department of Detroit Medical Center. He treated a wide range of orthopedic and podiatric conditions including both adult and pediatric complex foot and ankle deformities and trauma. Dr. Decker’s residency offered him Level 1 Trauma experience. He completed an AO Fellowship under Sigvard T. Hansen M.D. He traveled to the University of Iowa to study directly under world renowned Ignacio Ponseti M.D. Dr. Decker offers clubfoot treatment using the Ponseti technique. Dr. Decker offers appointments at our northwest office on Wilson Avenue, at the Metro Health Village and in the Big Rapids area. Education:
